Haley Backstabs Trump Again?

Former U.N. Ambassador and Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley has stayed quiet regarding former President Donald Trump’s recent criminal conviction, even as other notable Republicans and previous Trump adversaries have voiced their opinions.

As of early Friday afternoon, Haley’s social media platforms had not addressed the conviction. Additionally, she and her team did not respond to Fox News Digital’s repeated requests for comments.

During a trip to Israel, Haley has been active on her X account, focusing on the tragic events of the October 7 Hamas attack against Israel.

The relationship between Trump and Haley, once robust, soured after Haley decided to join the 2024 GOP primary race despite her prior statements suggesting she would not. This decision led to several campaign clashes between the two.

Following Trump’s victory in securing the GOP nomination, there was initial uncertainty about Haley’s support for him. Eventually, she endorsed him earlier this month.

“I will be voting for Trump,” Haley announced at an event hosted by the Hudson Institute in Washington.

However, she also remarked, “I stand by what I said in my suspension speech. Trump would be wise to engage with the millions who supported me and not take their support for granted. I sincerely hope he reaches out to them.”

In the wake of Trump’s conviction, numerous prominent Republicans have shared their reactions. Trump’s other primary challengers have also expressed varied opinions on the matter.

The jury found Trump guilty on Thursday of all 34 charges of falsifying business records in connection with hush money payments to adult film actress Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential campaign.

After the jury delivered its verdict, Trump addressed reporters in the courthouse hallway.

“This trial was a disgrace, a rigged proceeding led by a corrupt judge,” Trump stated. “They denied us a venue change. We only had 5% or 6% support in this district. This was a rigged, disgraceful trial.”

Trump concluded by saying, “The real verdict will be delivered by the people on November 5.”
