If this pays off for Boebert it will be a genius strategy, if not it could be her biggest mistake yet.
Colorado GOP Representative Lauren Boebert has declared her intention to seek re-election in a different congressional district. Currently representing Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District, Boebert announced her candidacy for the seat being vacated by Representative Ken Buck in the state’s 4th District. Buck had previously stated in November that he would not be pursuing re-election in 2024, paving the way for Boebert’s decision to move to the 4th District.
In a video shared on social media, Boebert officially announced her candidacy for the 2024 Republican nomination to represent Colorado’s 4th Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives. She emphasized that this decision aligns with her commitment to the conservative movement and is the right move for both her personally and for the state of Colorado.
Boebert expressed her determination to uphold her promise made since the beginning of her political career – to prevent the influence of socialists and communists in the country. She also addressed concerns about outside influences, particularly “dark money” aimed at undermining her candidacy and highlighted her dedication to preventing Hollywood elites and progressive groups from gaining control over the 3rd District.
Acknowledging the challenges she faced in the past year, including personal difficulties and mistakes, Boebert referred to her announcement as a “fresh start.” Despite facing a tough re-election in 2022, narrowly securing victory against Democrat Adam Frisch, Boebert remains resolute in her commitment to representing the interests of the 3rd District and thwarting attempts to manipulate the electoral process.
As the Republican primary for Buck’s seat gains momentum, other candidates, including rancher and former Colorado state senator Jerry Sonnenberg, are entering the race. Sonnenberg, with strong ties to the rural Colorado district, is positioning himself as a contender for the GOP nomination. Additionally, several other Republicans and Democrats have declared their candidacy for the open seat, setting the stage for a competitive election in Colorado’s 4th Congressional District.
