Here’s who the Democrats are focusing on.

As the political landscape heats up with speculation about potential running mates, both sides of the aisle are actively considering their options. While former President Donald Trump is narrowing down his list of potential partners, Democrats are casting a wide net, eyeing 16 politicians who could potentially snag the coveted spot.

The Democratic Senate Majority PAC has presented a selection of 11 names for donors to weigh in on, offering them the opportunity to voice their preferences for who should spar with Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming fall debates.

“Cast your vote in our latest Democratic VP survey: Who would you like to see Vice President Kamala Harris face off against and emerge victorious in November?” the group urged its supporters.

Meanwhile, Emily’s List has put forth a roster of 14 individuals, cautioning that any choice made by Trump would likely advocate for anti-abortion policies.

Included in the list are notable figures such as Senator Tim Scott (R-SC), Representative Elise Stefanik (R-NY), Governor Kristi Noem (R-SD), and former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, among others. Emily’s List also sounded the alarm regarding potential Trump picks, emphasizing the threat of anti-abortion stances.

However, the Senate Majority PAC opted to exclude certain candidates like Senator Marco Rubio, Governor Ron DeSantis, and Nikki Haley from its list, while introducing former Democratic Representative Tulsi Gabbard and Governor Greg Abbott (R-TX) into the mix. Notably absent were former acting intelligence chief Richard Grenell and Governor Glenn Youngkin (R-VA).

The group further asserted a bold claim, suggesting that since taking office in 2021, Vice President Harris and President Joe Biden have been engaged in an ongoing battle with Donald Trump.

“Since Joe Biden selected Senator Kamala Harris as his running mate, they’ve been tirelessly combating Donald Trump and striving to deliver tangible results for the American populace. And they’re prepared to continue the fight,” the memo declared.
