Top T.V. Personality Predicts Major Election Loss For Biden
Bill Maher has expressed his belief that President Biden will face defeat in the upcoming election, even though he continues to support him. In a discussion with tech journalist Kara Swisher, Maher suggested that former President Trump is likely to garner enough support to secure a second term.
Maher stated, “I would vote for [Biden’s] head in a jar of blue liquid over Donald Trump, but that doesn’t mean that I’m — first of all, I think it’s a moot point at this point. He’s going to f—ing lose,” during an episode of Swisher’s podcast.
One of Maher’s main criticisms of Biden centers around his age. He believes that many Democrats are overlooking the concerns about the 81-year-old president’s physical and mental capabilities.
Swisher, however, has a different perspective. She contended that a “silent majority” of Americans will support Biden when it counts the most, emphasizing a collective desire to avoid the chaos associated with Trump’s presidency. “We don’t want chaos again,” she stated.
Maher acknowledged Swisher’s point but also presented an alternative scenario. He suggested that the same “silent majority” might actually back Trump. “Do I think that’s absolutely possible, what you described? Yes. Or it could not be, and I can’t tell the difference,” Maher remarked, pointing out that there might be a significant number of voters who quietly support Trump.
He further elaborated on the concept of the “shy Trump voter,” describing them as individuals who prefer Trump but are reluctant to openly admit it due to social stigma. “The shy Trump voter is the one who is going to vote for Trump but doesn’t want you to know it because it’s a little déclassé,” he said.
Currently, Biden and Trump are nearly tied in election polls. According to the Hill/Decision Desk HQ poll average, Trump has a slight lead of about one point. However, Biden has gained some ground in recent surveys conducted after Trump was convicted on 34 felony charges last week.
