Nikki Haley Says Trump Scared To Debate Her, Is She Right?

DeSantis Gets Brutally Humiliated

GOP presidential contender Ron DeSantis, who secured the second position in Monday’s Iowa caucuses, shrugged off the negativity surrounding his loss, considering it a typical aspect of the political arena. Responding to inquiries about his feelings after the defeat during an interview with Fox News host Neil Cavuto on Friday, DeSantis asserted, “That’s just the nature of it. I can tell you this, though, if you look at Iowa, you know, we did it right.”

Highlighting his achievements in the state, DeSantis mentioned securing the endorsement of the governor, winning multiple debates (including the Miami, Newsom, NewsNation, and CNN debates), and participating in televised town halls that received positive responses. However, Cavuto interrupted by pointing out that DeSantis didn’t win a single county.

DeSantis defended his campaign, acknowledging the uphill battle they faced. “We dug in, and we executed, and we did run hard. We did do well,” he insisted. The former President and current GOP front-runner, Donald Trump, had a dominant victory in the Iowa caucuses, winning 98 out of 99 counties. Despite finishing ahead of former South Carolina Gov. Haley for the second position, DeSantis only managed to secure support from a single county.

Election returns from The Hill/Decision Desk HQ revealed that DeSantis received 21.2 percent of the vote in Iowa, trailing Trump by almost 30 points, with Trump earning 51 percent. Haley secured the third position with 19.1 percent of the vote. As attention shifts to the upcoming first-in-the-nation primary in New Hampshire, DeSantis currently holds 5.8 percent support in The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s polling average. Trump maintains his lead with 45.6 percent, while Haley is making gains at 35 percent.

During a rally in New Hampshire, Trump criticized DeSantis, characterizing his presidential campaign as one of the greatest “self-destructions.” Mocking him with the nickname “DeSanctus,” Trump referred to a recent poll that placed DeSantis at four percent, questioning, “What happened to this guy?”
