Schiff Says Trump Can't Fix America's Problems, Is He Lying?

Democrat Governor Caught On Hot Mic

Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, a staunch defender of President Joe Biden amidst growing calls for Biden to resign, found himself inadvertently captured on a hot microphone expressing ambiguous sentiments about the ongoing support for Biden’s candidacy.

Following an unrelated event focused on crime, Pritzker was overheard telling individuals, “We’re just gonna keep fighting. I don’t know what to say. You know, I gotta … gotta do what we have to do. I don’t like where we are but—”

In response to queries from CBS Chicago, a spokesperson for the governor suggested that Pritzker’s remarks pertained to the state of the presidential race. However, beyond this official explanation, the exact intent of Pritzker’s comments remains open to interpretation. It is unclear whether his words indicate support for or reservations about Biden, and if frustration is directed towards efforts within the Democratic Party to replace Biden or towards Biden himself.

When pressed further on both Biden’s status and his own potential candidacy, Pritzker avoided speculative discussions, affirming on Tuesday, “I’m not engaging in hypotheticals. You can see that I’m all in for Joe Biden. Biden will be the candidate of the Democratic Party. I will whole-heartedly campaign for him.”

Although Pritzker has been considered as a potential successor to Biden, his name has not resonated as loudly as other governors such as Gavin Newsom of California and Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan. Vice President Kamala Harris remains prominently positioned as the frontrunner should Biden decide to step down.

As governor of Illinois, Pritzker wields significant influence within the Democratic Party, given his leadership role in a state that will host the Democratic National Convention in August. His apparent frustration, if aimed at Biden, reflects broader concerns within the party ranks about the current political landscape and the path forward.

In essence, Governor Pritzker’s captured remarks underscore the complexities and uncertainties surrounding Democratic support for President Biden’s leadership and the intricate dynamics shaping the upcoming presidential election cycle.
