Trump has made some very interesting claims about Biden.
Former President Donald Trump recently reiterated his desire to engage in a debate with President Joe Biden prior to their anticipated rematch in November. Trump’s remarks came during an interview with radio host Hugh Hewitt, where he not only expressed his interest in a debate but also made unsubstantiated claims about Biden’s state during his State of the Union address.
During the interview, Trump remarked, “I don’t know what he’s using, but that was not, hey, he was higher than a kite,” insinuating that Biden was under the influence during his speech earlier this year. Despite lacking evidence to support his claims, Trump continued to voice his concerns, even suggesting that debates between him and Biden should involve drug testing.
Trump’s call for a debate was not limited to his interview with Hewitt; he also taunted Biden during a rally in Green Bay, Wisconsin, leaving an empty podium symbolizing Biden’s absence from the stage. Trump’s willingness to engage in a debate with Biden contrasts with his previous avoidance of GOP primary debates during his tenure as president.
On the topic of international affairs, Trump weighed in on the Israel-Hamas conflict, asserting that if he were still in office, the surprise attack against Israel on Oct. 7 would not have occurred. He advocated for a swift resolution to the conflict, emphasizing the importance of returning to peace and ending the loss of life.
Trump’s criticisms extended beyond foreign policy, as he also lambasted Biden, labeling him as an “idiot” and “the dumbest president we’ve ever had.” However, amidst Trump’s critiques, there has been mounting criticism directed towards Israel, particularly following the tragic airstrike that claimed the lives of seven World Central Kitchen workers in Gaza.
Despite the escalating backlash and frustrations, Biden has shown little indication of altering his support for Israel without conditions. As the general election approaches, the possibility of a debate between Trump and Biden remains uncertain, contingent upon Biden’s assessment of Trump’s behavior.
