Does Trump Need A Female Vice President To Get Re-Elected?

Letitia James Refuses Stop Harassing Trump

New York Attorney General Letitia James is currently seeking legal measures to prevent Donald Trump from relocating his business operations from New York to Florida. The argument put forth is that the core activities of the Trump Organization continue to be conducted at Trump Tower in Manhattan, despite any potential change in official address.

In a recent communication addressed to Judge Arthur Engoron, James emphasized the importance of maintaining the business addresses of six entity Defendants in New York. According to her letter, these entities operate primarily from Trump Tower, where the executives responsible for conducting business affairs are based.

Trump is facing a significant financial obligation to New York state, totaling nearly $454 million, which includes accrued interest. This debt stems from a civil fraud trial where Trump was found guilty of inflating his financial assets to mislead various financial institutions and entities. Judge Engoron recently ruled in favor of a $355 million verdict, with daily accruing interest until the debt is settled.

Attorney General James has made clear her intention to pursue asset seizure if Trump fails to meet his financial obligations. She stated in an interview with ABC News that if Trump lacks the funds to satisfy the judgment, legal measures will be taken to enforce it, including the seizure of his assets.

Trump’s legal team has requested a one-month delay in enforcing the judgment, criticizing James for what they perceive as undue haste in seeking immediate compliance. They also argue that certain addresses listed in James’ proposal are inaccurate and have provided alternative addresses in Florida, such as Mar-a-Lago estate and various Trump National properties.

In addition to the substantial financial penalty, Judge Engoron’s ruling also imposes a three-year ban on Trump serving as an officer of any New York-based business entity. Trump has indicated his intention to appeal the judgment, a move that is expected to incur significant legal expenses. Under New York law, Trump would be required to deposit the full amount of the judgment into a court account before filing an appeal, a sum estimated to be in excess of $400 million.
