Biden’s Crooked Border Policies Exposed
Senator Marsha Blackburn, representing Tennessee, has voiced strong criticism against President Joe Biden’s immigration policies, asserting that the administration’s swift and extensive actions have directly contributed to the ongoing crisis at the southern border.
Highlighting the series of executive actions undertaken by the Biden administration, Blackburn emphasized that from day one, Biden’s agenda has been geared towards opening up the border. She noted that within the initial 100 days alone, the administration executed 94 executive actions aimed at relaxing immigration laws and security measures, thus exacerbating the situation at the border.
In a recent interview on “Carl Higbie Frontline,” Blackburn underscored the administration’s contradictory stance on border security. Despite claiming that the border is “closed and secure,” the reality paints a different picture, with a staggering influx of over 300,000 illegal immigrants recorded in a single month. Blackburn attributed this crisis directly to Biden’s policies, labeling it as “a crisis of his making.”
Expressing skepticism towards the administration’s proposed $113 billion bill primarily focused on foreign aid as a solution to the border crisis, Blackburn asserted that such measures fail to address the root cause and are met with skepticism from the American public.
The Migration Policy Institute’s findings reveal a significant increase in immigration actions undertaken by the Biden administration compared to the previous administration. These actions have led to various policy shifts, including a notable surge in illegal immigration, as reported by reputable sources like the New York Times.
Criticism towards the administration’s handling of the border crisis has escalated, with House Republicans even calling for the impeachment of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for what they perceive as a failure to fulfill his duty in controlling the border.
Since Biden’s inauguration in January 2021, the southern border has witnessed over 6.3 million migrant encounters, according to statistics from the Office of Homeland Security. The reliance on executive actions to address immigration issues underscores the failure of Congress to pass significant immigration reform in nearly three decades.
Despite the deadlock in Congress, in May 2023, the GOP-led House of Representatives managed to pass the Secure the Border Act of 2023 (HR 2). However, Democratic Majority Leader Chuck Schumer dismissed the bill, emphasizing the need for bipartisan support and highlighting that not a single Democrat supported HR 2, underscoring the deeply entrenched partisan divide on immigration issues.
